I will soon be selling my treasured Master X Light but first it would be nice to get an accurate date for the production of the frame. I seem to remember someone on the forum helping me with this some time ago, but guessing it was in a PM that has since been deleted. Would someone please steer me in the right direction? You can probably find a serial number on the bike either on the rear drops or on the front derailleur hanger.

Frames, groupsets, wheels and finishing kit from all 22 teams riding this year’s Tour de France. By Matthew Loveridge. The Tour de France features 22 teams battling it out over 21 stages. The last couple of years have seen an explosion in aero bikes and equipment, with manufacturers fighting to out-integrate one another.
While some riders will still favour so-called climbing bikes, aero machines are now lighter and more versatile than ever before, and bikes such as the Scott Addict RC Disc — which used to be placed in the lightweight category — now sport aero features. Pro riders are often resistant to change and some have previously voiced safety concerns over the use of disc brakes in bunch racing. Nevertheless, the UCI approved disc brakes for use on the road just in time for the Tour. With sponsors keen to promote their latest and greatest disc-equipped aero bikes, you can expect to see plenty of rotors at the Tour.
Given current trends, it seems almost inevitable that R or whatever it ends up being called will be speed. Might we see a sneak preview at the Tour? Craig Calfee at CarbonFrames would have been the guy to call. Great handling and cool finishes our Tetra-Pro here glows like a purple marble when out in the sun top off bikes that were lighter, stiffer and yet still more comfortable than ninety-nine percent of the bikes in the pro peloton. If the mythical wizard Merlin dabbled in alchemy he may have realized that turning lead into titanium was an easier way to end up with gold than doing a straight lead to gold conversion.
Racing bikes had been built out of steel tubing for decades, so coming up with a rust-proof alternative to steel that was lighter, stiffer, less expensive to build or just looked different was the holy grail in the new material quest. The folks at Merlin pioneered the use of titanium for mountain bike frames, they figured out how to make titanium frame tubing internally butted, and with design help from Tom Kellogg of Spectrum Cycles they came up with this road bike that you see here.
